After several months of being away and on a self imposed hiatus due to a very busy schedule, I am back and itching to write new blogs again and what a better way I think is to start off is with an entry about a new tourist attraction that is slowly making it presence felt in the social media and in Philippine tourism. May we proudly present to you the Santorini version of the municipality of La Trinidad-STOBOSA HILLSIDE HOMES ARTWORK.

Travelling to Baguio City, especially for first-timers, can be quite exciting and at the same time stressful. Exciting in the sense that finally the moment you've been waiting for all your life has finally arrived. You've been planning for it, saving for it, gathered enough information about the place and after so many failed attempts to do it due to unforeseen events like typhoons, unavailability of vacation leaves, and other reason which prevented you, at last, everything's fallen into its proper order and everything's good to go for you. And just when you thought that you have covered everything from the budget to your accommodations, the stress of what to bring with you on your vacation comes in. This is fairly a problem especially for first-time travelers to Baguio. So, to relieve you of this stress we've come up with few suggestions on what or what you should not bring with you on your Baguio vacation.
Welcome and mabuhay!
Some of our guests who discovered and even availed some of our services always asked us if we also have an available local tour guide who could probably escort them around the city as none of them are familiar with the ins and outs of the place. We politely answered them that as of now we don't have but due to insistent public demand we gave in to the request just recently and we ventured into this very fulfilling work. So it's official that we are now offering Baguio City local tour guide. Most of us, if not all, don't have any private means that would conveniently take us from point A to point B. Meaning, we don't have our own car to get us to where we wanna go. But Filipino as we are, this doesn't prevent us from pursuing our love to travel even if it means having to endure the inconvenience of transferring from one bus to another or even riding the national transportation of the country, the jeepney. Well taking public transportation has it's own few advantages but more of the disadvantage side if you would ask us. Anyway, you have the choice. If you have your own car then we highly recommend that you take and use it but if you don't have then may the good Lord have mercy on you. Just kidding. Yep, that is why we made this blog entry for you who's planning on a trip to Baguio but don't have the luxury of a private car. We're gonna mention the buses that is plying the Manila-Baguio-Manila route, their schedules and their terminals in Manila and in Baguio.
I’ve been to so many places here in the Philippines already but I guess there is no place like home and Baguio City is just incomparable to other. There have been countless tourists from within and outside the Philippines whose trip to this wonderful city has been memorable and they end up coming back again.
It has been more than a week now and the weather hasn't shown even a bit of improvement. Still wet and freezin' cold in the suppose to be summer capital of the Philippines. Started with Egay and then followed by Falcon which ultimately pulled the southwest monsoon or the Habagat which causes this unforgiving weather condition that we are currently experiencing in the Cordillera region. Rain is continuously pouring all throughout the day and add to that, intermittent strong winds which currently makes the city a not so lovely place to roam or enjoy.
Indeed, there is no such thing as forever.
After many weeks of being the hottest and trending topic on many social media sites and the boob tube, finally the never ending question on whether there is such a thing as forever has finally been laid to rest. Yesterday, July 2 was the last day of many owners at Sitio Pungayan or famously known as Sitio La Presa to remove their stalls. This is in accordance with the decision of the Court of Appeals that mandated the protection and rehabilitation of the five barangays covered by the Mount Santo Tomas Forest Reserve which also covers the famous La Presa area. For those who are on a tight budget but want to maximize their vacation in Baguio City, then this budget friendly guide on how to go to the various tourist spots here in Baguio City is for you. Worry no more if you don't have your own car or don't want to spend a lot on taxi fares as this simple guide will show you what jeepneys to take, where their terminals are and how long would it take for your to get to the place just by taking jeepneys or by walking.
The day the TV series Forevermore hit the boob tube was also the same day that the sleepy farming village of Sitio Pungayan in the municipality of Tuba, Benguet became an instant tourist attraction. Twas also the same day that the fictional village of Sitio La Presa was born where Agnes and her family lived and Xander, the other protagonist of the series, unexpectedly messed up their once peaceful lives. And just like the entry of Xander into Agnes life, Sitio Pungayan or should I say, Sitio La Presa has also turned into an overnight sensation. La Presa has become a household name nowadays, thanks to the popularity of Forevermore.
When you are in a new place wouldn’t it be great if somehow you can manage to at least, speak the local dialect even if it’s just the basic ones. Well if you are planning to have your dream vacation in Baguio City then I think it would be helpful for you to learn some basic Ilocano phrases. Now, the reason why most people in Baguio City speak the Ilocano dialect is, in part, due to its geographical location. Baguio City is mainly surrounded by Ilocano speaking provinces. La Union to its west side, Ilocos Sur and Abra to the north and Pangasinan province on the south side. And with the immigration of the people from these provinces also follows the adoption of its dialect. So, don’t be surprised if Ilocano is also spoken here in Baguio aside from the provinces of La Union, Ilocos Sur and Norte, Abra, and Pangasinan.
