Indeed, there is no such thing as forever. After many weeks of being the hottest and trending topic on many social media sites and the boob tube, finally the never ending question on whether there is such a thing as forever has finally been laid to rest. Yesterday, July 2 was the last day of many owners at Sitio Pungayan or famously known as Sitio La Presa to remove their stalls. This is in accordance with the decision of the Court of Appeals that mandated the protection and rehabilitation of the five barangays covered by the Mount Santo Tomas Forest Reserve which also covers the famous La Presa area. As with our previous blogs, we have stated how Sitio La Presa gained instant popularity from an unknown and sleepy farming village into a tourist spot complete with signage and business stalls. Thanks to the hit TV series of ABS-CBN, Forevermore which made Sitio La Presa famous. This morning, news on the latest development on the La Presa status was aired on the local ABS CBN regional show Naimbag Nga Morning Kapamilya stating that the owners have already removed their stalls in compliance with the Court of Appeals order. Even the famous La Presa sign wasn’t even spared. As a consolation to tourists, Agnes house can still be seen on the place and can still be visited. Owners of the stalls went back to their original form of livelihood which is farming. Additionally, tourist visits to La Presa will now be regulated as a mandate of the Writ of Kalikasan which prevents further environmental damage to the forest reserve. This means that a only certain number of tourists will be allowed to visit La Presa in a day. The Philippine National Police will deploy personnel in points of entry and exit of La Presa assisted in part by Barangay Tanods of the Municipality of Tuba to make sure that the mandate is being fully implemented. So, La Presa this time can be toured in all its natural awesomeness sans the commerciality. Enjoy! News information credit to Jimmy K. Thanks for the response! Is the price still negotiable? We're planning to have a short visit at La Presa by friday for about an hour or two.
