Today, July 16, 1990 at exactly 4:26 in the afternoon, the "big one" struck an unaware and unprepared people on the north part of the Philippine islands. The force was estimated at 7.7 magnitude and a Mercalli intensity of 9. So strong was the power of this earthquake that it brought down so easily a lot of tall structures and caused great panic and death. This blog post is a silent prayer to those who perished, a reminder to those who survived and a warning to what lied ahead.
