When having your vacation in Baguio City, wouldn't it be great if you can save a lot on your accommodation without sacrificing comfort, accessibility and safety. Most tourists, especially the budget conscious ones would scout for the most budget friendly accommodations that they could have in the city. For this type of tourists, a transient house would be the most ideal accommodation that is suitable for them. For one, they are affordable. Most transient houses are way more cheaper compared to a hotel or a lodging house. Imagine the money you can save when you choose transient house over hotels which you can spend on other things like pasalubongs or for food. Second, transient houses have basically the same (and some, they offer more) amenities like what hotels have. So, why stay in a hotel(I don't have anything against them though) when you can save a lot and still enjoy the comfort of a second home in a transient house.
One dear reader of this site commented that they are planning to come and celebrate the annual Baguio Flower Festival or the Panagbenga Festival next year. He/She also said that they have a baby with them and they don't want to be overwhelmed by the huge volume of crowds that is present during the said festival and asked us to recommend any hotel that would be strategically located during the parades. So as promised, here is our article and recommendation to your request. Hope you find it usable.
It's been 25 years already and it seems that as if it only happened yesterday. July 16, 1990 is a date which will live in every minds and hearts of each Baguio residents. I still clearly remember that fateful day. I am just a lad at a young age of 11 when the tragedy struck that changed Baguio and me forever. I was in grade 6 and only a handful of us from our section were left behind to clean our classroom which was located at the second floor of our school's main building as we were the scheduled cleaners on that particular day. Children as we were, we enjoyed every bit of our tasks like it was only a child's game unmindful that we were the only people left in the entire school and all of the entire school's population had already gone home.
It has been more than a week now and the weather hasn't shown even a bit of improvement. Still wet and freezin' cold in the suppose to be summer capital of the Philippines. Started with Egay and then followed by Falcon which ultimately pulled the southwest monsoon or the Habagat which causes this unforgiving weather condition that we are currently experiencing in the Cordillera region. Rain is continuously pouring all throughout the day and add to that, intermittent strong winds which currently makes the city a not so lovely place to roam or enjoy.
Indeed, there is no such thing as forever.
After many weeks of being the hottest and trending topic on many social media sites and the boob tube, finally the never ending question on whether there is such a thing as forever has finally been laid to rest. Yesterday, July 2 was the last day of many owners at Sitio Pungayan or famously known as Sitio La Presa to remove their stalls. This is in accordance with the decision of the Court of Appeals that mandated the protection and rehabilitation of the five barangays covered by the Mount Santo Tomas Forest Reserve which also covers the famous La Presa area. Now, here’s a restaurant in Baguio City that offers good food that is equivalent to what you actually pay for and that is Salt & Pepper casual dining at the Citylight hotel. The resto along with the hotel had just been recently renovated and it now boasts of a fresh, modern ambiance that features a clean, minimalist, geometric architectural design with a chic Zen interior perfect for setting the mood for ultimate relaxation and superb dining experience. The place is located at the heart of the city, just a few steps away from Baguio Cathedral and Session Road.

Summer is almost over and soon rainy days will be makin’ us, I included, frown again. Farmers who longs for that needed water to irrigate their parched lands can now heave a sigh of relief as the wet season is just around the corner. But before we say goodbye to the warm and dry climate of summer, let me just make a last ditch effort to enjoy whatever days left of it. And, like what Olaf said from his song “when life’s get rough, I like to hold on to my dream. Of relaxing in the summer sun, just lettin’ off steam,” what better way for me and for my family to let off some steam is by taking a plunge in one of the scores of hot spring resorts here in the province of Benguet.
The day the TV series Forevermore hit the boob tube was also the same day that the sleepy farming village of Sitio Pungayan in the municipality of Tuba, Benguet became an instant tourist attraction. Twas also the same day that the fictional village of Sitio La Presa was born where Agnes and her family lived and Xander, the other protagonist of the series, unexpectedly messed up their once peaceful lives. And just like the entry of Xander into Agnes life, Sitio Pungayan or should I say, Sitio La Presa has also turned into an overnight sensation. La Presa has become a household name nowadays, thanks to the popularity of Forevermore.
