This is a one worthy cause to be writing about and be featuring here in our site-Earth Hour 2017. The world we live in right now is not only wrecked with wars of all forms but also with environmental degradation and this is the worst form of destruction that humans can do to the only place we call our home. We are watching Earth's fragile environment slowly slipping into devastation everyday which is brought about by our selfish and unmindful anti-nature practices. Mother nature is hurt and she is manifesting these through the different disasters we are came across every year. Storms, typhoons and earthquakes getting more and more intense. The Philippines was not spared from these disasters and in fact bore the brunt of the ire of mother nature as evidenced by typhoon Yolanda (International name: Haiyan) and the earthquakes that caused so much damage to lives and properties.
When will we ever learn? And if we ever learn do we have the courage to change for the better? Change is imperative if we still want to save whatever is savable from our environment. Change before it's too late. In observance of Earth Hour 2017, we at BaguioFamilyTime will do our share of contributing to Mother Nature's respite from environmental abuse by turning off our lights at exactly 8:30 tonight. This is our small way of loving and giving back to our environment who has given so much to us. And we are also confident that most if not all of the people and establishments here in Baguio City will also do their part in caring for the environment. Let's make this advocacy of taking care for our environment not only a one day event but an everyday habit.
