Most people at some point in their life will have a strong desire to make a journey or simply, to travel. They have their own reasons why they do it. Some travel to escape life which many of us believe that life is only a set of repetitive things that we do everyday-sleep, eat, and work. Traveling is an amazing way to break the dullness in our lives and bring back our love for it. Here are some reasons why going up to Baguio and spending some quality time here may be a good idea to spark the adventurous side of you and help you with your health. THE COLD NEVER BOTHERED ME ANYWAY One of the many reasons why Baguio is famous all over the Philippines is because of it's cool climate. Temps can drop down to 10 degrees and below during the months of December to February. Some folks might be apprehensive about the health benefits we can get from staying in a cold place but we've done our research and surprisingly we've discovered some. Colder temperature can help people think clearly. Well, we absolutely agree with this one. People tend to be less irritable, more patient and can do better with their concentration when they're in a cold place. Cool temp equals less arguments equals happy life and less stress. Another wonderful health benefit is that it can lower inflammation and it might also help you burn calories. Sure you might also be more likely to catch a cold, but at least you're safe as several diseases and viruses can't survive in a nippy temp environment. Plus, moderately cold temperature could also be good for skin's health as it make the vessels on the skin less prone to redness and swelling. Lastly, you'll sleep better in a Baguio climate. DON'T PANIC, IT'S ORGANIC Baguio and the nearby towns of Benguet are the largest producer of highland vegetables and fruits like cabbage, broccoli, carrots, potatoes and our personal fave, strawberries that are being transported and sold to different markets in Manila and neighboring provinces. There are some organic agricultural farms in the city that produces pesticide-free crops and there are also some restos that serves organic foods. Here are some health benefits of eating organic foods. Chemical free foods does not contain any toxic chemicals that affects our health in harmful ways. Naturally grown plants have higher level of antioxidants since it is free from foreign chemicals that normally reacts with vitamins, organic compounds and minerals. Aside from nutrition, organic foods are tasty because the crops are given more time to develop and mature. A LAID BACK PLACE Although Baguio is considered as a highly urbanized area and a major business, commerce, and education hub in northern Luzon, many people here still enjoys a slower pace of life. Compared with other metropolitan cities in the Philippines, we here can still take a short walk in the park or share a cup of coffee at a cafe with friends after work. Visiting a more relaxed place like Baguio and taking a break once in a while can protect you from mental issues such as depression. TREES'RE ALWAYS A RELIEF Pine trees abound wherever you set your sights in Baguio City. Some are already ages and has played an important part in making the city one of the cleanest and greenest place in the Philippines. The soothing sounds of wind through the pine branches and aromatic fragrances from leaves and sap helps us deal with bumpy emotions and easing stress.
