Came up with these great ideas that you may want to try when you are here in Baguio City. Some have already tried these stuffs especially if you are frequent Baguio visitor but for those who are first timers, then this blog post would be a great guide for you guys coming from someone who has lived in the city for a very long time. TAKE SELFIES WITH THE LION'S HEAD AT KENNON ROAD Your family and friends will never believe that you have been to Baguio unless you have a proof that you've really been here and a picture of you together with the Lion's head would really be a good piece of evidence. The Lion's head is one of the famous landmarks here in the City and it is located along the equally famous Kennon Road at Camp 6. You may also visit the View Deck before going to the Lion's Head. EAT AT GOODTASTE RESTAURANT If you want to eat at a place that serves tasty yet affordable foods then the best resto that we personally recommend is Baguio Good Taste Restaurant. They have two branches- at the back of Baguio Center Mall along Rajah Matanda Street and their new and bigger branch at Dr. Cariño and Otek Streets. Their best sellers are buttered chicken, chopsuey and my all time fave Good Taste rice. Be prepared for long queue of customers during weekends especially at lunch and dinner time. PICK STRAWBERRIES AT THE STRAWBERRY FARM IN LA TRINIDAD Ever wonder where all those strawberries that you see at the Baguio City Public Market comes from? You now have a chance to see the farm where they are actually planted and you can also do the harvesting by yourself. Recommended months for strawberry picking are from April to May and from December to January. Rate is P450.00 for a minimum of 1 kilo of Strawberry. WATCH THE SUNRISE OR THE FULL MOON AT MINES VIEW PARK Watching the sun rises at the eastern horizon of Baguio City from Mines View Park is an inspiring and the most amazing thing to do. Feel the positive energy that the sun brings forth as a new day begins while being captivated by the beauty of the City of Pines. Full moon at Mines View is also another sight to behold and it's quite romantic too. UKAY UKAY MADNESS AT THE BAGUIO NIGHT MARKET Indulge yourself in cheap and branded second hand clothing, shoes and accessories at the Baguio Night Market along the busy stretch of Harrison Road everyday from 9 in the evening until the wee hours of the following day. Just be ready to huddle with a jam packed place every night and to sift through a mountain of second hand goods. ENJOY THE BREATH TAKING VIEW OF BAGUIO AT CAFE IN THE SKY Unfortunately the road going up to Cafe in the Sky is heavily guarded by personnel of DENR and PNP but the Cafe is very much open and you just have to contact them in advance so that they can fetch you at the foot of Mount Santo Tomas. The view at Cafe in the Sky is superb as you can see the whole of Baguio City on the north east side and the province of La Union on the western side. Best time to go- early morning. Don't forget to wear thick clothing during your early morning ascent to the place as the temp there can be freezing cold. VISIT AND PRAY AT THE PINK SISTERS CONVENT This is the church that I would highly recommend if you want a place where you can really pour your heart out to the Lord and be at peace. The place is just so solemn and sacred that you can really feel that you are one with our Creator. A word of advice- please respect the place and don't try to go there for just taking pictures. STROLL UP AND DOWN IN SESSION ROAD Session Road is the heart of Baguio City and It is the place where people from all over Baguio converge or meet to catch things up or to unwind. Most of the major establishments are located at Session Road. A good stroll along the center of the city would be a great way to pass your time or to discover it. Best time to do it would be early morning or late afternoon. EAT PINIKPIKAN AT THE FARMER'S DAUGHTER RESTAURANT Pinikpikan is a native Igorot soup dish which is very famous all over the city and nearby highland provinces. It is prepared by beating a live chicken using a stick prior to cooking. Etag on the other hand is salted meat added to the pinikpikan in order to add more flavor to the dish. Pinikpikan is like the Igorot version of Tinola but with a twist. Your vacation in Baguio would not be complete without trying this local dish and we highly recommend Farmer's Daughter Restaurant located at Tam-awan Village who serves the best Pinikpikan in town. BUY PASALUBONG AND BAGUIO VEGETABLES AT THE BAGUIO CITY PUBLIC MARKET Now, you would not want your friends and family to get mad at you and disown you upon your arrival from your vacation in Baguio. Best way to appease them is to surprise them with pasalubongs brought from Baguio City and the best place to buy it is at the Baguio City Public Market. The market has a variety of Baguio pasalubongs that you can choose ranging from walis tambo, peanut brittle, strawberry jam, ube jam and others. Aside from pasalubong, you may also want to shop for fresh Baguio veggies at the Hangar Section of the Market.
